Chateau Gazin is a Bordeaux wine from the appellation Pomerol. The winery is located on the Right Bank of the Bordeaux wine region, in the commune of Pomerol in the department Gironde. At the same time, it is a member of Union des Grands Crus and Academie du Vin de Bordeaux. The history of Chateau Gazin can trace back to the year of 1214. Now, it is managed by Nicolas de Bailliencourt and his brothers and sisters.
Chateau Gazin's vineyard covers an area of 26 hectares,consists of Gunzian gravel on the surface and a subsoil of blue and green clay with iron oxides (iron residues).The vineyard is planted with 90% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Cabernet Franc. The average age of the vines is 35 years. Chateau Gazin’s wine is one of best representatives of the Pomerol appellation. It is elegant, clear and enchanting, with purple or garnet color. It has flavors of black and red fruit and has great potential to age.
